If you have questions about this policy or about how we handle your information, get in touch using the details above.
Most of the information about you on Datolite Learn comes from your firm. When your firm enrolls you in training, the person at your firm responsible for training provides Datolite with the details needed to set up your account.
Some information you provide directly when you sign in, work through a course, or get in touch with the Datolite team. Some is collected automatically by the site as you use it — for example, your IP address and which courses you’ve viewed.
In short, your firm provides what’s needed to give you access. Datolite collects what’s needed to run the platform and track your progress.
We may collect the following information about you:
Your name, work email address, and (where your firm provides it) job title. This is what we use to set up your account and assign you to courses.
Which courses you’re enrolled in, which lessons you’ve started or completed, how much time you’ve spent in each, and your progress overall. This is what lets you pick up where you left off and lets us confirm completion.
Records of any certificates issued to you, including your name, the course, and the date of completion.
If you get in touch with the Datolite team — by email or through any contact form on the site — we keep a record of the message and our response so we can help you and improve the service.
Your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and a record of the pages you visit on the site. We use this to keep the site secure, fix problems, and understand how the platform is being used. Our Cookie Policy explains what’s set through cookies.
We use your information to:
- Give you access to Datolite Learn and the courses your firm has assigned to you
- Track your course progress and let you continue where you left off
- Issue certificates of completion and keep a record of them
- Communicate with you about your training (for example, course assignments and platform updates)
- Respond when you contact the Datolite team
- Keep the platform secure and prevent misuse
- Understand how the platform is being used so we can improve it
- Meet our legal and contractual obligations
We don’t use your information for advertising or retargeting, and we don’t sell your information.
We only share your information where it’s needed to run the platform or where we’re required to.
When your firm asks, we may share enrolment and completion information about their learners with the people at the firm responsible for the training. We don’t share content from individual lessons or anything beyond what’s needed for the firm to manage their team’s training.
Datolite Learn is built on LearnWorlds, which provides the underlying platform and hosts our course videos. If analytics is enabled, Google Analytics processes usage data on our behalf. These providers process your information only as needed to deliver their service, under contract with Datolite.
We may disclose information where we’re required to by law, in response to a valid legal request, or where we reasonably believe it’s necessary to protect Datolite, our users, or others from harm.
If Datolite is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of part of the business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. The new owner would be bound by the commitments in this policy or one materially equivalent to it. We’ll let you know if this affects you.
Datolite operates from offices in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom, and your information may be processed in any of those countries, depending on which Datolite team is helping you.
The service providers we rely on — LearnWorlds and Google Analytics where enabled — process data in the European Union, the United States, and other regions. When your information is processed outside your country of residence, we rely on contractual and technical safeguards designed to keep it protected to a comparable standard.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after, so we can continue to issue certificate records, respond to questions about completed training, and meet our legal and contractual obligations.
If your firm tells us to remove your account, or if your account has been inactive for an extended period, we’ll delete or anonymize your information unless we’re required to keep it.
You can:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong or out of date
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal or contractual reasons we may have to keep it
- Ask us to limit how we use your information
- Object to our use of your information for a particular purpose
- Withdraw any consent you’ve given (this won’t affect anything we’ve already done lawfully)
To exercise any of these rights, get in touch using the contact details in section 1. We may need to verify who you are before acting on your request.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local privacy regulator. We’d ask you to come to us first, so we have a chance to resolve the issue.
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information — including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular reviews of our security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce the risk and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
For details on how we use cookies and similar technologies, see our Cookie Policy.
We may update this policy. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Significant changes will be communicated through Datolite Learn or by email (learn@datolitesolutions.com).
